Spring cleaning

It’s been a while since I last got the chance to put something up on this blog. Admittedly since the start of our little company, we’ve had quite a few ups and downs and a whole lot of hiccups to contend with. These little starting problems still crop up from time to time….but we finally got down to giving the site a much needed update as we batten down the hatches to survive yet another monsoon….

The funny thing about this murky weather is not so much the drowsy, human feeling but rather the non-cooperative machinery that has been plaguing us. The computers have all been showing an increased tendency to pick up sniffles and coughs in this weather in quite a mind boggling manner seeing as they are after all…just machines…

Prevention might be better than cure however as we quite literally scrambled for cover by backing up every project and dead project that’s passed through our offices in the past 6 months. The silver lining in all this being that when we actually sat down to do the update there wasn’t much of the search for files and formatting as when we went into our Beta version.

Up this time around are a few of our more commercial minded projects…hey, a designer’s got to earn a living man and all can’t just be functional, beautiful, perfect at the same time. Still we do manage to make orange and pink go together better than the latest Bollywood fad, if I do say so myself :)

But, coming back to the updates, we have a few reports for Dasra, a non-profit into investment services and Manuals for an organic farm that breeds rabbits, emu and other exotics…also music CD’s from the tribal belt and a website for a travel agency that specializes in custom made tours…

There’s a lot more we could add but for the moment we are a bit swamped….a new area we’re exploring is online portfolios for designers and artists who want their web presence to be as distinctive and individual as their work.

Till later then…chao!!!

In the News

Myth Design made it into the local mags and papers!!!
Nearly 6 months down the line from the launch of our biggest project yet – The National Consortium of Tribal Arts and Culture or NCTAC for short, we’re still getting calls for interviews and sound bytes as newspapers and magazines discover this one of a kind installation at Tejgadh…

Named Vaacha, which means voice, the interactive is set in an imaginary tribal village where one can visit the homes, fields, forests and market place to interact with the various tribal communities of India. Tribal paintings inspire the many folktales narrated at different points of the interactive and there are also video clips of fairs, festivals, dances and religious rituals. Over 30 different spaces can be visited each with multiple access points so that the interactive is a unique experience for each viewer.

Considering its is perhaps a first of its kind museum interactive in India, we were hoping for a more enthusiastic response, but the curators of these museums assure us that once the screens are running it will be a case of more visitors than they can handle. We certainly hope so…

For those of you in the neighbourhood of any of these museums early next year (that would be 2010) do drop in and check out the display and send us your feedback at info@myth-design.com. We want to hear from as many visitors as possible so we can incorporate your suggestions into these and future displays we design.

The Myth Design team had a lot of fun in the production of this interactive and I’ve added some snippets of the coverage it has received here… If you wanna read what the articles have to say, then just click on them...

Myth Design - Beta Version

At long last we are moving to the beta version of our website – with a new html format in addition to the existing flash format. We’ve also added a sound clip which you welcome to turn off should it get on your nerves… (I’m the fussiest member an I’ve not needed to shut it off yet so probably you won’t need to either)

Its been a long time coming for a number of reasons – mostly our intense dislike for having to fight out every bit of code in html – besides the limitations it puts to our defying aesthetics :) Next up…hopefully a new look for our news reel so that its more a part of the site….

Besides this we’re hoping to put up a few new 2D animations and a couple of our newer web designs…so watch this space…
